Reflection & Refinement: Shaping the 19th Artomobilia
Refining what works, retiring what doesn’t, and layering in what matters
Artomobilia has never been afraid to try new things.
Every year we test new ideas. Some become permanent parts of the event and grow. Others teach us valuable lessons and quietly disappear, never to be spoke of again. 😳 That process is intentional. It is how Artomobilia continues to evolve without losing what makes it special.
Reflecting on 2025, one thing is clear. The future of Artomobilia is about layering. Cars will always be at the center. The owners, their stories, and the craftsmanship on display are the foundation. But the experience continues to grow by adding thoughtful elements around that core.
In 2026, that approach continues.
We will keep expanding brand-focused experiences like Porsche-Palooza, Lotus-Palooza, BMW-Palooza, and Mercedes Monumental, giving enthusiasts deeper engagement and smarter curation.
We will continue to elevate the role of art and design, featuring nationally recognized automotive artists like David Chapple, alongside complementary experiences such as Carmel on Canvas. Dozens of artists will once again take part in a Plein Air Paint Out with cash awards, reinforcing the connection between automotive design and fine art.
We will expand further into Carmel Midtown, introducing more restaurants and merchants to the Artomobilia community.
And we will keep improving the Artomobilia Weekend Online Guide to better showcase sponsors, partners, and entrants in a way that is easy to explore and engage.
Turns out, many of the best ideas do not come from us.
They come from sponsors, partners, entrants, and guests. If you want to help shape 2026, register as a volunteer or email John directly at john.leonard@artomobilia.org
Every idea is reviewed and considered. Some may even get turned into actual work. Fair warning.
We look forward to planning our 19th Artomobilia Weekend, including the Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge at Motor District, the Veloce Hangar Party at the Jet Access Center on Friday, August 28, and Artomobilia itself hosted in the Arts & Design District and Carmel Midtown on August 29.
Registration opens in March. When you sign up for Artomobilia 2026, come experience what’s new, what’s expanded, and what’s been refined as we continue to layer art, design, culture, and community into the Artomobilia weekend.
